TileWare Shower Shelves & Accessories

TileWare baskets, hook, and grab bar in oil rubbed bronze.

Benefits of TileWare's expansive line of shelves, foot props, grab bars, baskets, towel bars, and hooks:

  • Installation happens below the wall tile but over the wall board: no punctures through your waterproofing.
  • All fixtures are plated brass: no rust, no patina, no cheap finish that flakes off over time.
  • Different design options: Contemporary or Traditional end caps, different shapes and sizes available.
  • Very strong: see the video below! The grab bars alone are rated for over 1000lbs of weight.

Available Finishes: Chrome, Nickel, or Bronze

Examples of the three finishes: Polished Chrome, Brushed Nickel, and Oil Rubbed Bronze; and the two end cap options: smooth Contemporary or decorative Traditional.

Ideal for 100% Waterproof Showers (No Leaks!)

Waterproofing a tub surround or shower is one of the most important aspects of a bathroom remodel. However, most storage or accessibility solutions for tubs and showers require poking holes through the waterproofing to anchor your shelf, bench, or grab bar to wall studs. Those screw holes create a direct passage for water to get into the wall cavity, causing issues such as mildew and rot.

TileWare products attach to (not through) your wallboards with specially designed plates that sit in the thinset under your tile. No leaks, no water damage!

How Strong are TileWare Foot Props, Shelves, etc.?

A lot of people ask us how strong these shelves, baskets, and foot props can be if they're not screwed into the wall studs. The answer: they're incredibly strong!  Their thinset-mounted panels can hold a lot of weight.

Check out this video of two heavy thinset pallets (each one weighs appx. 1 ton) being set on four TileWare Foot Props, held to Schluter Kerdi Board with no more than thinset and some 6x6" ceramic tiles.

For reference, each pallet has about 50 bags of thinset, each one weighing 50lbs. That's 5000lbs of weight distributed on 4 little foot props, or about 1250lbs per foot prop.

What holds them in place? A little thinset and two 6x6 basic ceramic tiles.

Amazingly strong.
