How do I get new countertops? A simple six step process:
How long does this whole process take? On average, about 3-4 weeks from the time you order your countertops to the time they are installed.

Legible cabinet drawings, blueprints, or hand-drawn line drawings are all acceptable. Mark any cutouts for sinks, cooktops, bathtubs, etc. Mark edges that need to be finished vs. edges against walls.
Choose from one of our 200+ colors priced by the square foot. You only pay for the square footage used, not a full slab. See in-store samples.
You can also hand-select and place a hold on a full slab at one of our slab warehouses.
Note: slab holds expire after 2 weeks, countertops must be ordered before the hold expires to keep your selected slab.

Specify how many sinks you have and whether they are top-mount/self-rimming or undermount.
Do you want a backsplash made of your countertop material? How tall? Are there any cutouts for outlets or switches?
If the backsplash is 6” tall or shorter, we can plane it down it from 3cm thick to 2cm thick for an additional charge; please specify if you want backsplash planed or not.
If you would like us to tear out and dispose of old countertops and backsplash material, tell us so we can quote it as a separate charge. Tear out is not automatically included as many customers are starting with new cabinetry or tearing out their old countertops themselves. See full tear out details at the bottom of this page.
We will provide you with a written proposal listing your project details and pricing. Review and confirm details.
If the proposal details are correct and the pricing works for you, you can place your order for countertops by returning a signed copy of the proposal and making a payment. Our timeline is typically 3-4 weeks from order to install.
Within 1 week, the scheduler will call you to set up the template appointment. The template date is subject to the template-maker’s schedule and your availability but is usually scheduled appx. 2 weeks after you place your order.
Up until the day before your template appointment, you have the option to cancel your countertop or change details (color, edge profile) without penalty. After template, we cannot change details of the countertop.
After template we will contact you if the measurements are significantly different from the initial estimate.
If it's lower, we will refund the difference.
If it’s higher, you have the option to pay the balance and move forward with fabrication, or to cancel your project for a refund less the template fee of $325 + tax.
The digital template will be plugged into the CNC machines to cut your countertops. This can take 1-2 weeks depending on the complexity of your project and other projects in the queue.
The scheduler will set up the installation appointment with you before the template but may need to reschedule if complications arise at or after the template appointment.
Approximate duration is 3 – 8 hours depending on the size & access of your project.
All of our quartz products are covered by a 15-year residential manufacturer’s warranty against defects. Ask us for details or visit the manufacturer’s webpage to register for your warranty.
Our fabricators warrant their work for as long as you’re in the house with the product. This includes but is not limited to countertop seams, undermount sink adhesive, etc.
Tile Lines is your advocate for countertop-related issues. If you have a warranty claim, maintenance concern, or other post-install issue, don’t hesitate to contact us.
If you wish to keep your old counters for as long as possible, we recommend you remove them a few days before your installation appointment, not the day before or the day of the installation appointment. This gives you time to repair any damage to the cabinets caused during tear out.

We recommend hiring a handyman to handle tear out if you are unable to remove countertops yourself and we cannot tear them out for you.
Old backsplash must be removed prior to template. We can remove the backsplash, but we are not responsible for drywall or wall repair.
We typically do tear-out of old countertops the day of or the day before the installation appointment, depending on jobsite location and schedule. The scheduler will arrange this with you beforehand.
You must disconnect plumbing, gas, and electric devices prior to tear-out. This includes sinks, faucets, cooktops, ranges, etc.
Appliances touching the countertops must be moved before tear-out; including but not limited to refrigerators, stoves, and cooktops.
We can try to salvage old sinks at your request, but we cannot guarantee that they will not be damaged in the tear out process. If you wish to re-use your old sink, you must remove it and clean off any old adhesive before template. We do not recommend this; it is better to have a new sink on hand for template and installation.
